Subjects: GCSE Science all subjects, A-Level Biology, all learners of English as a Foreign Language EFL and beginnerintermediate Japanese learners. My lessons are highly holistic and discussion-orientated with a focus on building understanding.

I have a total of four years teaching experience; two-and-a-half of which were spent working in public and private schools in Japan, where I taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL), whilst the remaining one-and-a-half years until the present have been spent as a freelance tutor where I have expanded into the Sciences (particularly Biology). I have experience teaching all ages, from 3 to 18, but most often find myself teaching those taking their GCSEs. My teaching approach has evolved under several major influences, the most notable being the so-called TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) approach for EFL, which has surprising cross-subject application for its focus on learning through creating incentive for students to engage with the content. I also believe strongly in cultivating strong foundational understanding and the answering the crucial why that is commonly omitted in textbooks.
