Teaching experience
I have a broad teaching background working with students of all ages from primary school to sixth form. In addition, I have hands-on experience supporting children with disabilities, which I developed through my volunteering work at Marjorie McClure school where I gained valuable skills in adapting my teaching approach to meet their unique needs. I use a flexible teaching approach to accommodate a wide range of learning needs. By employing strategies such as diagrams, analogies and active recall techniques, I help students grasp complex concepts and retain information more effectively.
My goal is to build students' confidence in their abilities, enabling them to achieve their academic objectives. I provide guidance for students preparing for entrance exams, including the 11 and UCAT, helping them to develop the skills and the confidence needed for them to succeed. I'm a kind and patient individual, which helps me build a welcoming environment for my students where they can openly ask questions and check their understanding, enabling them to progress in their learning. I have had the privilege of teaching many students online, helping them make significant progress and improve their grades.
My teaching approach is centred on active learning, where I use an interactive online whiteboard to break down complex concepts step by step, ensuring thorough understanding. Additionally, I provide exam-style questions and practice papers to assess their knowledge, identifying areas for improvement and reinforcing topics where necessary. This methodical approach ensures that students not only grasp the material but are also well-prepared for any assessments they may face.
