Hello, I mainly teach GCSE Maths and Physics with AS Level Maths on the side. My teaching style, in summary, is to ensure the student has a good understanding of the base concept and to walk through practice questions. The lesson focus is step-by-step practice questions.

I have experience in tutoring family and friends at GCSE, as recently as this year, preparing a family member for pre-GCSE Maths end-of-year exams. I am flexible to teach from beginner GCSE to 1st year AS of A Level. To run through an example lesson structure:

1 - Student flags up an area of weakness, e.g. Surds or factorising
2 - Test that the student has a solid foundation, e.g. do they understand the rules of surds
3 - If not, then run through the theory and round off with low difficulty questions
4 - Once this has been consolidated, expose the student to a more structured practice question and run through step-by-step to understand the structure of the answer that is required
5 - If the student is confident, give an exam question to try on their own.

Often start off the lesson with a warm-up question based on the topic from the previous lesson to test if the info has been stored, to warm up the brain.
