Hi I'm Rico. I teach Maths, English and Physics at all levels. I have a degree in Engineering and expert knowledge of the sciences. My preferred teaching style is one of confidence building and problem solving, drawing on tested teaching materials.

My teaching experience began with my work on the Kingston Schools Plus project as a volunteer tutor and resources creator. I taught year 8 students GCSE Maths.
I have based my teaching around the building of strong and positive relationships and lots of preparation. The preparation consists of bespoke teaching materials focussed on the learning needs of each student. These materials have been fully researched and can be adapted for all learners, especially those looking to get through exams. I have used this approach extensively to enable students to problem solve difficult areas of learning across the sciences and to test out their learning with regular practice.
Since then I have been teaching GCSE Maths for college students in year 13 at Get Further, so I am very familiar with the exam regime for this and other subjects.
At Get Further I have drawn on a wide set of teaching materials and developed my teaching practices. In particular I have developed robust skills for assessing students strengths and weaknesses, developing problem solving practice to address weaknesses, whilst building on the strengths to promote progress by introducing the students to new methods and techniques
