Teaching Qualifications and Experience

I am a highly qualified and passionate science educator with an international academic and teaching background spanning India, the United States, and the United Kingdom. My diverse educational journey and professional experience have equipped me with the knowledge, practical expertise and teaching skills to support students from different educational systems, cultures and ability levels.

I believe that every student has the potential to excel when learning is engaging, personalised and supported by clear explanations and real-world applications. My academic journey began with a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from India, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science,e fluid dynamics and engineering principles. Studying aerospace engineering strengthened my analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge while giving me a deep understanding of how scientific concepts are applied in real-world engineering and technological innovation.

Driven by my passion for physics and space science, I continued my education in the United States,s where I completed a Master's Degree in Physics and Astrophysics. This advanced degree allowed me to explore complex areas of modern physics, cs including classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, thermodynamics, cosmology, astronomy and astrophysics. My postgraduate studies enhanced my research, analytical,l and scientific communication skills while giving me a deeper appreciation for the fascinating principles that govern our universe.

Recognising my passion for education, I pursued professional teacher training in the United Kingdom and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education PGCE in Secondary Science with Physics, earning Qualified Teacher Status QTS. This internationally recognised teaching qualification prepared me to teach secondary science in England while developing my expertise in curriculum planning, assessment, behaviour management, adaptive teaching, safeguarding and evidence-based educational practice. Alongside my academic qualifications,s I have accumulated valuable teaching experience across different countries and educational settings.

Before moving to the United Kingdom, I worked in the United States as a Physics teacher for one academic year, where I taught high school students and delivered engaging lessons covering a broad range of physics topics. During this role, I planned lessons aligned with curriculum standards, conducted laboratory investigations, assessed student progress and created an inclusive classroom environment that encouraged curiosity, critical thinking and scientific enquiry. In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have over two years of online and face-to-face tutoring experience supporting students individually and in small groups.

Throughout this period, I have worked with learners from diverse educational backgrounds, helping them improve their understanding of Physics, Mathematics, General Science and Engineering concepts. My tutoring sessions are carefully tailored to each student's learning style, academic goals and individual strengths. Whether preparing students for examinations, strengthening subject knowledge, or building confidence, I believe in creating supportive and engaging learning experiences that encourage independent thinking and long-term academic success.

During my teacher training in England, I completed extensive teaching placements in secondary schools where I independently planned, delivered, and evaluated lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. My specialist subject is Physics, but I also have considerable experience teaching Biology and Chemistry. Throughout my placements, I delivered lessons covering topics such as forces, electricity, energy, atomic structure, particles, chemical reactions, bonding, cells, genetics, ecosystems, reproduction and many other areas of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.

Working with students of varying abilities has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs. I have successfully supported high-achieving students aiming for top examination grades, learners requiring additional academic support, English as an Additional Language EAL students, and students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities SEND. I use differentiated instruction, scaffolded resources,s targeted questioning, and personalised feedback to ensure every learner has an opportunity to succeed. My teaching philosophy focuses on making complex scientific concepts simple, engaging, ging and relevant. I strongly believe students learn best when they understand not only the theory but also how science applies to everyday life and future careers. By connecting classroom learning to engineering, technology,y space exploration, medicine, and modern scientific discoveries, I encourage students to develop curiosity and genuine enthusiasm for STEM subjects. Assessment is an integral part of my teaching practice.

I regularly use formative assessment techniques such as retrieval practice, mini quizzes, exam-style questions questioning exit tickets and interactive discussions to monitor student understanding. These strategies help identify misconceptions early, allowing me to adapt lessons and provide targeted support. I also provide constructive and personalised feedback that enables students to recognise their strengths while identifying clear steps for improvement. As part of my professional development, I completed educational research investigating the impact of explicit vocabulary instruction on English as an Additional Language EAL learners within secondary science classrooms. This research strengthened my understanding of evidence-based teaching strategies and reinforced the importance of academic vocabulary literacy and language development in improving student achievement across diverse classrooms. I have developed strong classroom management skills by building positive relationships, maintaining high expectations, and establishing consistent routines that promote respect, responsibility and active participation. I believe an effective learning environment is one where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and develop confidence in their own abilities.

Technology plays an important role in my teaching. I regularly incorporate digital presentations, virtual laboratories,s interactive simulations, online quizzes, educational software and multimedia resources to create engaging and dynamic lessons. These tools enable students to visualise abstract scientific concepts while promoting active participation and independent learning. From September, I will begin my role as a Teacher of Engineering at a further education college in England. This exciting opportunity reflects my commitment to inspiring future engineers and helping students develop the scientific knowledge, technical skills,s and problem-solving abilities required for higher education and careers within STEM industries. As an online tutor, I provide personalised one-to-one support for students studying Physics, Mathematics, General Science, Engineering, GCSE Science, A-Level Physics, KS3 Science and university-level engineering and physics modules. My lessons are carefully structured to meet each student's individual goals, whether they require help understanding difficult concepts, improving examination performance,e preparing for assessments, or developing long-term confidence in STEM subjects.
