I have a thorough knowledge of many GCSE/A-Level set texts and an eagerness to study them should I not be familiar. I studied Pride and Prejudice, Macbeth and The Woman in Black but have detailed insight into most texts used by schools in the UK.
I have a current perspective on the 11+ curriculum and have a range of resources available to assist your child, recently assisting my younger sister succeed in her 11+ examinations. I attended a grammar school as a result of succeeding in these examinations and am aware of the nature of these exams and how best to tackle them.
I have published my poetry in local newspapers as well as international newspapers but am particularly apt in the work of Keats and Blake having studied them most recently. My love for poetry will benefit your studies as I will be keen to grasp any content you need explained to you.
I am proficient in the works of Shakespeare, in particular Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Macbeth and Othello. I have an up to date knowledge of the A-Level and GCSE specifications of all exam boards and will therefore be able to provide valuable advice on how to academically succeed in English. I personally studied Social and Political Protest Writing as a genre, looking in greater detail at Khaled Hosseinis The Kite Runner and the infamous The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood.
Although my skills are well suited to UK studies, they can be broadly applied to all aspects of English like essay writing, public speaking, speech writing, formal writing, creative writing etc regardless of the qualification you are working towards.
I am currently employed by Explore Learning and teach English and Maths to children aged 5-14. Though I can teach English to a higher standard, I am also proficient in the maths curriculum up to year 9 as I teach this at my current centre.
